The final number 2 player on this list is New Zealand's energetic Ross Taylor, with 12 catches in just 11 Champions Trophy matches. Making his debut in the 2009 edition, Taylor went on to play until the 2017 edition in England and had the best catch per innings ratio amongst all at 1.09.

Now, finally moving to the number one player on the list is Sri Lanka's former top-class batter, Mahela Jayawardene. The right-hander, who represented the Island Nation in the Champions Trophy until the 2013 edition after first playing in the 2000 edition, was seen in a total of 22 matches in the multi-national event, where he grabbed 15 catches in the tournament.
Jayawardene had a catch-per-innings ratio of 0.681 while he was one of the premier athletes from the Sri Lankan side, who was safe as a house. In 448 ODI matches, Jayawardene has 12,650 runs at an average of 33.37.
