The Men's T20 Asia Cup has always been a platform where the batters get an opportunity to test their mettle in times of need. While there are some who shine with a single impressive knock, some individuals impress with their consistency, scoring fifty after fifty and putting their teams in the contest.

Sri Lankan batters Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka have quickly risen through the ranks with their heroics in the Asia Cup 2025. On that note, here’s a full list of the top 5 batters with the most 50+ scores in the T20 Asia Cup.

5. Dinesh Chandimal (Sri Lanka) - 2 Fifties

Seasoned Dinesh Chandimal has played in just one Asia Cup in 2016, but he made the short stay count with 2 fifties in just 4 innings. Scoring 149 runs at an average of 37.25 and a strike rate of 109.55, Chandimal played the role of a steadying influence in Sri Lanka’s middle order.

While his scoring rate did not equal the levels of a few of the modern-day power hitters, his ability to build an innings and hold things together was crucial for his team. His contributions remain an underrated part of the tournament’s history, showing that a player can leave a lasting impression even in a short space of time.

Yet another Sri Lankan batsman who has impressed in recent years is Kusal Mendis. From 2022 to 2025, he made 243 runs in nine games with 3 half-centuries. Averaging 30.37 and striking at 142.10, Mendis has been both aggressive and stylish, providing brisk starts for his side.

Not only that, in the Asia Cup 2025 edition, Kusal Mendis showed patience with a gritty knock of 74* that helped Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan by 6 wickets in a 170-run tough chase. His transformation and development in the T20I format are emerging as a good omen for Sri Lanka.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan has been a rock of solidity at the top of the order. In the 2022 edition, he featured in 6 games and scored 281 runs at a batting average of 56.20 and a strike rate of 117.57. Rizwan made 3 half-centuries in the tournament, stabilizing the innings most often and allowing others to play freely around him.

Although not scoring as fast as some of his contemporaries, his ability to bat through an innings and provide solidity under pressure for Pakistan was irreplaceable. By 2025, however, Rizwan, along with Babar Azam, has been entirely relegated from Pakistan's T20I squad.

When it comes to consistency and impact, Virat Kohli’s record in the Asia Cup speaks for itself. Playing for India between 2016 and 2022, Kohli scored 429 runs in ten games, to an exceptional average of 85.80 and strike rate of 132.00.

He not only registered 4 scores of fifty or more but also produced a breathtaking unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan in 2022, which was his maiden T20I hundred. Virat Kohli has shown up, time and again, in the toughest moments, guiding India with his trademark poise. His performances underline why he is widely regarded as the “chase master” and one of the greatest batters in the history of the format.

Pathum Nissanka has been Sri Lanka's most reliable performer in recent T20 Asia Cups. Over the period 2022 - 2025, the young opener played 9 matches, scoring 297 runs in total, with a strike rate of 127.46 and an average of 37.12.

Nissanka has 4 fifties, as well as a high score of 68, which shows he has been quite consistent at the top. Calm and composed at the crease, he has delivered consistent starts for Sri Lanka and usually set up battle-like totals. Still only 25, Nissanka has plenty of time to add to his record and could well become one of the tournament’s all-time leading run scorers in the future.
