The Asia Cup T20 has a long history of players giving their all, especially in tense situations. In the previous events, both batters and bowlers have stood up, where the ones with the ball have often delivered match-winning spells for their side.

Despite finding it tough, especially in the T20I format, the bowlers have often kept their morale high with some disciplined bowling and high-quality performances in the past. Therefore, in this article, we will have a look at the bowlers with the most wickets in Asia Cup T20I history.

3) Al-Amin Hossain, Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Naveed - 11 Wickets

The third position on this list is jointly shared by four players: Mohammad Naveed from the UAE, Rashid Khan from Afghanistan, Hardik Pandya from India, and Al-Amin Hossain from Bangladesh, with all of them having 11 wickets in their tally for their respective sides.

While Naveed, the UAE pacer, has featured in seven games, where he has managed 11 wickets at an average of 13.18, while bowling at an economical rate of 5.24. Rashid has often been disciplined; in eight games he has played, giving runs at an economy of just 6.51 while maintaining an average of 18.36 for his side.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya from India has also featured in eight games, where his average is 18.81, and he bowled at an economy of 7.01 for India. And lastly, Al-Amin Hossain's numbers have also been brilliant; in the five matches he played so far in the T20 Asia Cup, he has managed to grab 11 wickets at an impressive average of 12.18 while giving up runs at an economy of just 7.96 for his nation.

All four of these players have often stood up for their respective nations, where their wickets have often changed the course of the game in the tournament's history.

2) Amjad Javed - 12 Wickets

At number two on this list is the UAE's another medium pacer, Amjad Javed. Javed, who has played for the UAE in a total of 22 T20I matches, managed to pick up 33 wickets in his T20I career. Furthermore, in the Asia Cup T20 history, he has played a total of seven matches, during which he has managed to claim 12 wickets at an outstanding average of 14.08, while maintaining an economy rate of 7.34 and a strike rate of 11.50 for the UAE side.

Despite not having pace behind him, Javed relied on his accuracy and precision as a player to swing the ball, as he would often make it difficult for the batters to time their shots. Javed last played international cricket in 2017, after which he hung up his boots after having a successful international career for the UAE.

1) Bhuvneshwar Kumar - 13 Wickets

Now, at the top of the list is India's outstanding pacer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvi, who has plenty of experience under his belt, has played six T20I matches in the Asia Cup, where he has bagged 13 wickets at an average of 9.46, while maintaining an economy of 5.34. He has regularly grabbed wickets at a strike rate of 10.61, while his best figures were 5 for 4, which came in the 2022 edition against Afghanistan.

Bhuvneshwar, known for his swing and accuracy, has presented batters with a different challenge altogether, even on flat pitches, as he has featured in 87 T20I matches for India, and taken 90 wickets at an average of 23.10. At the same time, his economy is impressive at 6.96. Therefore, Bhuvneshwar Kumar maintains the top spot with the most wickets in Asia Cup T20 history.
