3. By 44 runs at Thiruvananthapuram, 2023

In 2023 at Thiruvananthapuram, India recorded a memorable T20I win against Australia, which finds third spot on this list. Batting first, India posted a record-breaking total of 235, the highest in this fixture, thanks to brilliant contributions from the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad, setting a challenging target for Australia.

In pursuit, Australia struggled at the top, with their top four failing to give the much needed fire. The middle order, including Tim David, Marcus Stoinis, and Matthew Wade, fought back, but it was not enough. At the end, India secured a 44-run win, which at the time ranked as their second-biggest T20I victory over Australia by runs.

2. By 48 runs at Gold Coast, 2025

Number two in the list is during team India's latest outing at Carrara Oval, Gold Coast, during the fourth game of the five-match series against Australia. India batted first and posted a par total of 167. The Aussies began their chase decently but faced trouble in the middle overs.

The visitors kept it tight and eventually Australia’s middle-order collapsed and the team got bowled out for 119. It was a complete team effort from Suryakumar Yadav and his men, with Washington Sundar and Axar Patel doing the bulk of the damage, taking three and two wickets respectively in their spells and help India win by 48 runs.

1. By 73 Runs at Mirpur, 2014

At the top of the list is India’s 73-run win against Australia in the 2014 T20 World Cup group stage in Mirpur, Bangladesh. India posted a formidable 159 on a double-paced wicket, setting a challenging target for the Aussies.

Chasing, Australia struggled and were bowled out for just 86. Ravichandran Ashwin starred with the ball, claiming a four-wicket haul for only 11 runs in 3.2 overs. This performance remains one of India’s biggest T20I victories over Australia overall.
