One of the top leagues in world cricket, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), has established a name for itself in the cricketing dynasty. With some top-class T20 players involved in high-class teams and performances being top-notch, the CPL has surely set a standard for itself over the last decade or so.
Although cricket is a team sport, but individual brilliance shall not be discounted, especially in the CPL, where players have stepped up on multiple occasions. Therefore, in this article, we will explore the highest individual scores in Caribbean Premier League history.
5) 119* By Alex Hales Vs St Lucia Kings, Guyana, 2023
The fifth-highest score in the Caribbean Premier League came from the bat of the English power hitter Alex Hales. Back in 2023, playing for the Jamaica Tallawahs, Hales smacked 119 not out off 57 deliveries against the St Lucia Kings at Providence Stadium in Guyana. The Tallawahs batted first and posted 201 runs after losing five wickets at the end of the 20 overs.
Hales struck 12 boundaries and seven maximums with a strike rate of 208.77, taking his side to an above-par total with his 119*. Thanks to his magnificent effort and an outstanding bowling display by Chris Green, who picked up four wickets, Saint Lucia were bowled out for just 79, and the Jamaican side won comfortably by 122 runs.
4) 120 By Colin Munro & Faf du Plessis Vs St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Basseterre, 2025 & 2021
The joint fourth-highest score came from the bat of Colin Munro and Faf du Plessis. Back in 2018, at Basseterre, in Saint Kitts and Nevis, while playing for the Trinbago Knight Riders, Colin Munro smashed 120 off 57 balls against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. His 120 came while opening the innings, where he consumed only 57 deliveries with a strike rate of 210.52, striking six magnificent maximums and 14 boundaries, while taking TKR’s score to 231 for 5 after the end of the 20 overs. Thanks to this splendid effort, TKR’s side were able to defend their target by just 12 runs, as the Patriots reached only as far as 219 but couldn't manage to cross the last hurdle.
Another player who scored 120 in the CPL is Faf du Plessis, who scored 120 not out off 60 balls while leading his side, the St Lucia Kings, in the 2021 edition at the same venue, Basseterre, against the Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The St Lucia side batted first and posted 224 on the back of skipper du Plessis, scoring 120* off 60 deliveries, with a strike rate of 200, where he struck 13 boundaries and five maximums, taking Saint Lucia to an above-par total. In reply, the Saint Kitts and Nevis side couldn't get closer, as they lost the game by a heavy margin of 100 runs, giving the side a massive victory, as they were bowled out for just 124.
3) 121* By Andre Russell Vs Trinbago Knight Riders, Port of Spain, 2018
The third-highest score in the CPL came from the bat of big-hitting Andre Russell. The year was 2018, and the Jamaica Tallawahs were playing the Trinbago Knight Riders at Port of Spain. The Knight Riders batted first and posted a heavy total of 223 for the loss of six wickets after the end of their 20 overs, which looked daunting, as chasing 224 is definitely not an easy task at any venue against any opposition.
Despite that, the Tallawahs side didn't hold back, as skipper Andre Russell played the knock of his lifetime, scoring 121 not out off just 49 balls with six boundaries and a whopping 13 gigantic maximums, all coming at a strike rate of 246.93. The Jamaican side chased the score down in 19.3 overs with just six wickets lost, as they won rather comfortably, in fact, in the end, by four wickets and three balls to spare. Thanks to this win, Russell's knock is always remembered as one of the finest ever.
2) 125* By Tim Seifert Vs Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, Gros Islet, 2025*
Now, the player who has struck the second-highest score in the CPL came in the recent encounter between the St Lucia Kings and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, which took place at Gros Islet in Antigua, in the 18th match of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2025 season. The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons batted first and thumped 204 for the loss of four wickets.
Chasing 205 for the victory, the Kings' side made merry of the chase as they finished the game in 17.5 overs with six wickets to spare, all thanks to opener Tim Seifert, who demonstrated proper class and power, alongside precision, consuming just 53 deliveries for his 125 not out with nine maximums and 10 boundaries at a strike rate of 235.84, helping the Kings' side to victory in one of the most comfortable chases in modern-day cricket. The Kiwi batter did not lose his wicket, as he hardly played a false stroke during his 53-ball stay at the crease.
1) 132* By Brandon King Vs Barbados Tridents, Guyana, 2019
The highest score ever achieved by a player in CPL history was recorded in 2019, during the qualifier one at Providence Stadium in Guyana, between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Barbados Tridents. The Warriors side batted first and put up a steep score of 218 runs on the board for the loss of just three wickets, all thanks to opener Brandon King, who scored an unbeaten 132 off just 72 balls with 10 boundaries and an unbelievable 11 maximums at a strike rate of 183.33, taking the Guyanese team to a total that always looked daunting.
In the end, the game was comfortably won by the Guyana Amazon Warriors, as the Barbados Tridents could reach only as far as 188 for 8 after the end of their 20 overs, as the Warriors booked a slot in the final of the tournament. Kudos to King, as this game is always remembered for Brandon's superlative effort in a crunch knockout encounter.
