Kranti Goud etched her name into Indian women's cricket folklore with a spellbinding performance in the series decider against England at Chester-le-Street. Her remarkable figures were historic, dismantling England's chase of 319 and securing a nail-biting 13-run victory that clinched the ODI series 2-1 for India.

Goud's heroic six-wicket haul instantly propelled her into the rarefied air of India's greatest individual bowling performances in Women's ODIs. Hence, let's take a look at the list of players whom Goud joined with her sensational spell on July 22.

5. Ekta Bisht - 5/8

In the 7th Super match of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier on February 19, 2017, at Colombo, Indian left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht produced a stunning spell to dismantle Pakistan Women’s batting lineup. Bisht claimed 5 wickets for just 8 runs in her 10-over quota, which included seven maidens.

Her fiery spell helped India bowl out Pakistan for a paltry 67 runs in 43.4 overs. With the target set at 68, India Women chased it down comfortably, winning by 7 wickets with 165 balls to spare. Notably, Bisht’s performance also earned her the Player of the Match award.

4. Kranti Goud - 6/52

India Women clinched a narrow 13-run victory over England Women in the 3rd ODI at Chester-le-Street on July 22, 2025, thanks to a sensational bowling performance by Kranti Goud, who registered match-winning figures of 6/52 in 9.5 overs.

Defending a target of 319, the 22-year-old pacer turned the tide in India’s favour with timely breakthroughs, including the key wickets of Beaumont, Jones, Davidson-Richards, Dean, Filer, and Bell. Goud's relentless pace and accuracy ensured England were bowled out for 305 in 49.5 overs, falling short despite a fighting 98 from skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt.

3. Jhulan Goswami - 6/31

In the 6th match of the 2011 NatWest Women’s Quadrangular Series at Southgate, legendary pacer Jhulan Goswami delivered a bowling masterclass, taking 6 wickets for just 31 runs in 10 overs. Her sharp pace and pinpoint accuracy helped restrict New Zealand Women to 201/8 after 50 overs.

Despite Goswami’s career-best effort, the Indian batters faltered in the chase. India Women were limited to 162/9, falling 39 runs short of the target. Jhulan’s brilliant spell, which included key dismissals like Lucy Doolan, Katey Martin, and Sara McGlashan, went unrewarded as India’s middle order failed to capitalize.

In a memorable performance on February 19, 2016, at Ranchi, Deepti Sharma stole the spotlight with a stunning all-round show in the 3rd ODI of the ICC Women's Championship. The Indian star picked up 6 wickets for just 20 runs in 9.2 overs, completely dismantling the Sri Lankan batting lineup and restricting them to 112 all out.

With the bat, Deepti followed up her bowling heroics by anchoring India’s chase with a composed 28 off 59 balls. For her match-winning contribution with both ball and bat, Deepti Sharma was rightfully named Player of the Match for the clash.

The one to top the list is Mamatha Maben. On April 25, 2004, in the 4th ODI between India Women and Sri Lanka Women at Kandy, Mamatha Maben delivered a match-winning bowling performance. Maben tore through the Sri Lankan batting lineup, claiming an incredible 6 wickets for just 10 runs in 6.2 overs. 

Maben's spell included three maiden overs and played a pivotal role in bundling out Sri Lanka Women for a mere 66 runs. Maben’s stunning display of discipline and control not only dismantled the opposition but also set up India’s dominant 10-wicket win with 196 balls to spare.
