5. 103* (88) vs SA, Bengaluru, 2024

In the year 2024, South Africa's women's side were up against Indian women at Bengaluru in the second ODI. India batted first, and on the back of Smriti Mandhana (136) and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (103*), India went on to post a gigantic total of 325 for the loss of three wickets.

In reply, South Africa were marginally behind, as they ended up scoring 321, as the hosts won the game by a meagre margin of four runs in the end. Thanks to Harmanpreet's blazing 103, which came off 88 deliveries at a strike rate of 117.04, where she smacked nine boundaries and three maximums in her knock to power India to a match-winning total.

4. 107* (109) vs ENG, Brabourne, 2013

In 2013, Mithali Raj's Indian side faced England women in match number six of the Women's World Cup at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. On the back of Charlotte Edwards' 109, England were ahead with 272 runs on the board. However, in reply, India couldn't get as close as they would have liked, as they lost the game by 32 runs.

They could only manage 240 runs, out of which 107* were scored by Harmanpreet Kaur. She consumed 109 deliveries, striking eight boundaries and two maximums in her knock, giving India a chance, but unfortunately, the Women in Blue fell short. 3. 109 (107) vs WI, Hamilton, 2022

Moving to the year 2022, India were up against West Indies women in Hamilton during the Women's World Cup 2022. Batting first, India scored a mammoth 317 on the backs of Mandhana and Kaur (123 and 109 respectively). West Indies lost the game by a huge margin of 155 runs, as they were bowled out for just 162.

This turned out to be Kaur's third-highest knock in one-day cricket, as she took 107 deliveries and smacked 10 boundaries and two sixes during her assault over the West Indies. Thanks to Harmanpreet's solid effort, India again achieved crucial points on a global stage.

2. 143* (111) vs ENG, Canterbury, 2022

In the same year, Indian women were playing against England women at Canterbury during India's tour of England in the second ODI, where the visitors scored 333 for the loss of five wickets, where skipper Harmanpreet starred with 143* coming off just 111 deliveries with 18 boundaries and four sixes, as she struck runs at a strike rate of 128.82.

Whereas India went on to win the game comfortably by 88 runs, bowling England out for 245. Harmanpreet's solid effort again proved useful, where India demonstrated why their skipper is one of the best batters in world cricket.

1. 171* (115) vs AUS, Derby, 2017

Moving to the number one spot as the highest score by Harmanpreet Kaur in a one-day cricket came in the iconic 2017 World Cup semi-final clash against the dominant Australian women side at Derby where the right-hander went on to score 171* off just 115 deliveries, striking at 148.69 with seven sixes and 20 whopping boundaries, as India scored 281 by the end of 42 overs. 

Australia, in reply, were bowled out for 245, as India earned the final berth after winning by 36 runs in a rain-curtailed encounter.

This game is forever written in the folklore of women's cricket as one of the finest ever knocks played, not just in women's cricket but by any player in international cricket history.
