Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has been setting the stage ablaze with his stellar performances in the ongoing IPL 2023. Continuously surging to new heights, the 21-year-old batting sensation has been shattering records consistently and on Friday, he added another feather to his cap during his remarkable innings against Punjab Kings at the grand Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

Displaying sheer brilliance, Jaiswal carved his way to a scintillating half-century off a mere 36 deliveries. Amidst this glorious knock, the gifted opener etched his name in the IPL folklore by amassing the most runs scored by an uncapped batter in a single edition of the IPL.

Jaiswal obliterated former Kings XI Punjab opener (now Punjab Kings) Shaun Marsh's long-standing record of 616 runs in 11 innings, which was established during the IPL's 2008 season, prior to the latter's eventual debut for the Australian national team.

Not long ago, the prodigious opener had entered record books by notching the fastest fifty in the illustrious IPL's history, reaching the milestone in a mind-boggling 13 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Jaiswal's remarkable feat has seen him emerge as the second-highest run-scorer in the ongoing season, fueling his aspirations to claim the coveted IPL 2023 Orange Cap. The young southpaw has amassed a staggering tally of 625 runs to his credit, exhibiting a remarkable average of 48.07 and a blistering strike rate of 163.61.
