In the Group B encounter of SMAT between Gujarat and Tripura, Urvil Patel created history by smashing a 28-ball century. He eventually made unbeaten 113 off 35 balls as Gujarat chased down the target of 156 in just 10.2 overs. So, it was quite a dominating performance from the right-handed batter and he hit seven fours and 12 sixes in his knock.

Urvil Patel is a right-handed opening batter born on October 17, 1998 in Mehsana, Baroda. He made his T20 and List A debut for Baroda in 2018 while his first-class debut came in early 2024 for Gujarat against Tamil Nadu. Before his century against Tripura, he played 43 T20 matches and scored 875 runs at an average of  20.83 with a strike rate of 154.32.

Urvil Patel Unsold In IPL 2025 Mega Auction

In List A cricket, he has played 14 matches so far and has an average of 41.50 with 415 runs under his belt. His average is around 111 in List A, so he is an aggressive batter, but recently went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Urvil was earlier part of Gujarat Titans after being picked in the 2022 mega auction. However, he is yet to make his debut in the Indian Premier League.

Urvil Patel's century of 28 balls is the second fastest in Men's T20Is where while the fastest is for Estonia's Sahil Chauhan who reached that landmark in 27 balls. However, his century is the fastest in India's domestic T20 competition, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
