Suryakumar Yadav will don the Indian blues as the newest T20I skipper of Team India, starting the much-awaited India vs. Sri Lanka series on July 27th.

However, that has brought to light an old set of reports from Surya's Mumbai captaincy stint in 2015, when he was allegedly removed from the leadership role due to 'disciplinary issues'.

According to NewsX, Suryakumar Yadav's leadership of Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy was not without challenges.

His tenure, which lasted just six games, saw Mumbai securing only one victory against Uttar Pradesh, a performance that raised questions about his leadership. Because of this, Mumbai, unfortunately, ended the season in sixth place after suffering an all-time-low defeat to Tamil Nadu.

Following the poor performance and severe off-field issues, SKY was forced to hand in his papers and resign as the skipper.

Mumbai's manager, Shrikant Tigdi, shared a report to the MCA describing Yadav's disciplinary problems, leading to Aditya Tare becoming the next captain.

Not just this, the report also revealed that he had a long history of erratic behaviour, as, during his U-25 captaincy days, he was involved in a fistfight with teammate Siddhesh Lad and also broke a glass wall at the MCA's BKC facility. He was let off after a warning from MCA vice-president Ravi Savant.

SKY, might have faced his share of controversies however, the Surya Bhau we know now has surely come a long way and is set to embark on a fresh journey with coach Gautam Gambhir.
