Oval Invincibles' Adam Zampa has made a thunderous start to The Hundred season, his three-wicket haul dismantling the Birmingham Phoenix for a mere 89 runs at the Kennington Oval.

Zampa's hunger for more began as soon as he scalped his first wicket of the innings, sending Rishi Patel packing for just 25 runs with a good length delivery lighted outside the off stump. Patel came down the track and missed poorly, and wicket-keeper Sam Billings, even with a fumble, knocked the bails over in time, and he had to walk back.

His next target was Adam Milne, who departed for a golden duck on the very next ball, trapped in front. Zampa's good-length delivery on the off stump skidded off the surface, leaving Milne to miss his flick across the line. The ball crashed into his pads, and the umpire's finger was up in a flash.

Adam Zampa's hunger was finally satiated with the wicket of Tom Helm, completing his three-wicket haul. The Aussie spinner demolished the Phoenix tail with a total length delivery on the stumps; once again, it skidded off the surface and caught Helm plumb in front, sending him back for just a single run off four balls.

With this, Birmingham Phoenix's were all out for 89.
