 Gerald Coetzee Ruled Out Of West Indies Test Series Due To Injury In MLC 2024

Gerald Coeztee, the young South African sensation has been ruled out of the two-match Test series against West Indies due to low-grade side-strain he suffered while playing for Texas Super Kings in Major League Cricket 2024.

The pacer has been replaced by Migael Pretorius who has been in great form in County Championship in England with 23 wickets in eight matches. He is yet to play for South Africa though, but is a welcome addition given his skills and form in recent times.

As far as the whole squad is concerned, Temba Bavuma will lead the Proteas and they have gone with plenty of youngsters. The likes of Marco Jansen and Anrich Nortje are not in the squad, but Kagiso Rabada is there and he has the likes of Lungi Ngidi, Dane Peterson, Migael Pretorius in the pace department. 

The spin department comprises of Dane Piedt along with the experienced Keshav Maharaj, while the talented youngsters like Tristan Stubbs, Matthew Breetzke have also made the cut. The first Test is scheduled to start on 7th of August at Port Of Spain while the second Test will be played in Guyana.
