Team India captain Rohit Sharma and his playful camaraderie with fellow senior Virat Kohli seems to know no bounds. Whenever the two cricketers are not going gung-ho over opposition’s bowling attacks, they often indulge in friendly banter and share light moments, both on and off the field.

Sharma and Kohli also hold high regards and utmost admiration for each other, as evidenced from their many fan interactions and press conferences.

However, back in 2020, when the world was enveloped in the fear of COVID-19, Sharma jokingly passed on the opportunity to praise his teammate just to school a fan on social media over a minor spelling mistake.

When Rohit Sharma mocked a Virat Kohli fan

Back in 2020 during the COVID-19-induced shutdown on global cricketing activities, Rohit Sharma was among the few players who entertained fans via his social media presence. The legendary opening batters often took to Instagram to interact with fellow cricketers, and also held fun Q&A sessions for his followers.

During one of the Q&A exchanges, a fan asked Sharma to describe Virat Kohli in one word. As it turned out, the fan in question had misspelled the word ‘Kohli’ in his query, and was subsequently subjected to some lighthearted trolling by Sharma instead.

Refusing to drop a coherent response to describe his teammate, Sharma simply wrote:“Check the spelling.”

Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma recently took field together for Team India in their three-match home T20I series against Afghanistan.

While the latter is currently leading the Indian team in a five-match Test series against the visiting Englishmen, Kohli is in the middle of some personal time as he opted himself out of the fixtures.
