His deep affection for this aromatic delicacy became evident to his fans during his early years with Indian cricket itself, back during the time when he used to sport longer hairs.

One of the first instances when the public became aware of MS Dhoni’s affection for butter chicken dates back to 2006, during one of his television appearances.

MS Dhoni expresses profound love for butter chicken

MS Dhoni, back in 2006, appeared in a television special on NDTV where he can be seen expressing his profound love for butter chicken. The recently resurfaced video on social media showcases a young Dhoni savouring this North Indian delicacy, candidly confessing on camera that he indulged in this dish for six days a week. The then-youngster said:

“I love butter chicken. I eat butter chicken six days in a week.”

Earlier this year, MS Dhoni’s former CSK teammate Robin Uthappa revealed the cricketer’s bizarre and hilarious butter chicken eating habits. Speaking on a chat show, Uthappa laughingly claimed that whenever Dhoni would order a butter chicken, he would only eat the gravy and not the chicken pieces. Furthermore, if his CSK skipper ate the chicken pieces, then he would avoid rotis.

As one can expect, the Indian cricketing legend has also playfully etched his fondness for this delicacy on his Twitter bio with the words: 

“Perennially hungry for chicken butter masala.”

MS Dhoni’s love for butter chicken may be undeniable, but it pales in comparison to his passion for collecting trophies, as he stands as India’s most celebrated and decorated cricket captain of all time.
