On This Day in 2016, Pakistan, under the astute leadership of Misbah-ul-Haq, achieved a momentous victory at Lord's, defeating England by 75 runs. This triumph marked Pakistan's first Test win at the historic ground in 20 years.

The win was sealed after Pakistan bowled England out for 207 in their second innings. Setting a target of 283 runs, thanks to Misbah-ul-Haq's well made 114 runs. Pakistan’s bowlers, spearheaded by leg-spinner Yasir Shah, orchestrated a clinical performance.

Shah, who played a pivotal role throughout the match, dismissed England’s hopes by taking crucial wickets at decisive moments. While, Mohammad Amir delivered the final blow by clean-bowling Jake Ball.

England's chase began promisingly, with Alastair Cook hitting a boundary off the first ball. However, the tide quickly turned as Rahat Ali dismissed Cook. Alex Hales followed, falling to Mohammad Hafeez after top-edging Rahat, and Joe Root’s careless pull shot saw him caught in the deep by Yasir Shah for nine.

Despite resistance from James Vince (42) and Gary Ballance (43), England struggled to maintain momentum. Vince edged a drive off Wahab Riaz and was caught by Younis Khan, while Ballance, who struck Yasir confidently to the boundary, was bowled by a turning delivery that pitched in the rough.
