In a surprising revelation, cricket legend Wasim Akram disclosed that he encountered security checks twice before entering Perth's Optus Stadium during the ongoing Test match between Australia and Pakistan.

In a light-hearted moment during the commentary of the first Test between Australia and Pakistan in Perth, Wasim, sitting alongside former England captain Michael Vaughan, shared an amusing incident with a security official.

Akram recounted,

"He (security official) said, 'Show me your card,' and I did. He said, 'No, show it again, I haven’t seen your picture,' so I said, 'Here you go, buddy' (smiles)." The veteran cricketer's cheerful recounting added a touch of humour to the ongoing match commentary.

This incident unfolded on the second day of the Test when Australia, resuming at 346/5, witnessed Mitchell Marsh's impactful innings pushing them close to the 500-run mark in the first innings.

Despite Marsh's contribution, Pakistan struck early in the second session, dismissing Australia for 487, with Marsh falling short of a century at 90. The formidable total poses a significant challenge for Pakistan's batting lineup.

Having chosen to bat first, the Australian team made a strong start, with openers David Warner and Usman Khawaja (41) establishing a solid foundation with a 126-run partnership.

Warner went on to form half-century partnerships with Steve Smith (31) and Travis Head (40), eventually amassing 164 runs. Marsh's crucial knock of 90 helped Australia reach a total of 487 in 113.2 overs. Debutant all-rounder Aamer Jamal bowled a marathon spell, claiming a remarkable six-wicket haul.
