The 32nd group-stage fixture of the ongoing Indian Premier League witnessed Royal Challengers Bangalore secure a narrow seven-run win over Rajasthan Royals in a high-scoring cliffhanger at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. Batting first, RCB posted a sizeable total of 189 runs, which RR failed to chase despite the valiant efforts from Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel.

However, amid some scintillating individual performances, what grabbed a million eyeballs was a spectacular direct hit from Suyash Prabhudessai, which sent the dangerous Shimron Hetmyer packing at the twilight phase of the game.

The incident took place in the 18th over, when Rajasthan Royals needed 35 runs to emerge victorious in this match. Although they had only 14 deliveries in hand, the dynamic duo of Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer were still out there in the middle, looking all set to take the game deep.

However, their effort received a massive jolt as soon as Prabhudessai nailed the direct hit from extra cover to remove Hetmyer for a horrendous nine-ball three.

Speaking of Prabhudessai, the young lad from Goa hasn't been provided with as many opportunities as he would like to showcase his batting prowess. However, when the situation demanded, he rose up to the occasion as a fielder, playing a crucial role in his side's memorable win.

RCB moved one place up to the fifth spot in the IPL 2023 points table with this magical victory. Up next, they will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the 36th match of the tournament on April 26.
