In the ongoing fixture between India and Australia at Chepauk, umpire Nitin Menon found himself in another controversy after giving a "Not-out" decision that did not please Indian captain Rohit Sharma and former skipper Virat Kohli at all.

In an over of Kuldeep Yadav, Australian keeper-batter Alex Carey failed to pick the googly that pitched on middle and off-stump. It thudded him on the front thigh pad, but the umpire gave the batter not-out.

The Indians, especially the three men behind the stumps - Rohit, Virat and Ishan Kishan - shouted their hearts out in the appeal but the umpire stayed unmoved. They also didn't try questioning the on-field decision; however, their reactions told a whole different story.

The umpiring decision shocked the fielders as they thought it was plumb in front of the stumps. They got indulged in a conversation with both the umpires but for nothing.

Although in the aftermath, the replays showed that umpire Menon was absolutely correct with his call, as most of the ball would have missed the leg stump.

Having said that, if Indians had reviewed it, Carey would have survived, and India would have lost one of their reviews.

Thus, after watching the replay on the big screen, keeper Kishan said - "Thank God, we saved our review."

The Indians and ICC's elite panel umpire have got indulged in various on-field banters as the team has showcased their disappointment in Menon's calls quite some times.

At the time of writing, Australia are at 171-5 after 33 overs, with Carey batting 18* and Marcus Stoinis being his partner at 15*.
