The love and hate affair between Virat Kohli and Nitin Menon is never-ending. Times and times, we have seen the umpire giving the Indian batter out on controversial calls. However, a new chapter was added to the love story in the Kohli-Menon saga on the final day of the 4th Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2023).

In the first session of the day at Ahmedabad, Kohli was seen mocking the on-field umpire after Travis Head survived on an umpire's call thanks to Menon's decision.

This incident happened in the 35th over in a Ravichandran Ashwin over, the southpaw missed the delivery that thudded Head on his front leg, in front of the leg stump, but Menon's decision wasn't overturned as the batter stayed not-out due to the umpire's call.

After the debatable call, Kohli - standing at the first slip - was seen taking a dig at the umpire.

He said: "Agar hum khelre hote to out tha, agar main hota to pakka out tha." (If it was India batting, we would have been given out. If I was batting, I would have definitely given out there.)

The Australian opener later completed his half-century, which is also his first of the tour, helping his side gain a lead over India. The visitors are currently playing for a draw, and it would be improbable for Rohit Sharma's team to produce a result from this state.

At the time of writing, Head is batting at 70* alongside Marnus Labuschagne on 36*, with the lead of 21 runs. There are around 49 overs left in the day today.

Earlier in the game, the former Indian captain broke his exile of more than three years of not scoring a century in the Test format. He registered his highest Test score against Australia in the longest format, with his 186.
