England quick, James Anderson, is arguably the greatest pacer to have played the longest format of the game. The veteran bowler, who is renowned for his swing bowling, has bamboozled batters all across the world for over two decades now.

Anderson stuns fans with ball-juggling skills

Anderson is making waves on social media, albeit not for his bowling but for his surprising display of footballing skills during the current fourth Ashes Test in Manchester. An interesting video featuring the Englishman juggling a ball with nonchalant finesse has since taken the internet by storm.

A behemoth of the Test format, known for his sublime swing bowling, Anderson’s performance in the ongoing Ashes 2023 has left much to be desired. The first Test in Edgbaston marked a significant dip in his performance, as he secured just a single wicket. He went on to voice concerns about the unresponsive pitch conditions, hinting at a tough road ahead in the series if conditions persisted.

The trials continued for Anderson in the second Test, where he clinched a mere two wickets. His disappointing run led to his exclusion from the third Test squad. He made a comeback for the fourth Test, but his woes continued as he managed only one wicket from his 20-over spell.

The lone wicket was that of Australian captain, Pat Cummins, who was dismissed by Anderson's delivery for a just one on the opening ball of the second day.

Despite this, England is on the cusp of victory in Manchester, with Australia trailing the host's first-innings total by 162 runs and just six wickets remaining. Although Anderson has shown remarkable economy in his second innings, he is yet to take a wicket.

In the twilight of his two-decade-long illustrious career, Anderson has a golden opportunity to rebound from his recent struggles. By helping his team to clinch the remaining wickets, he could assist England in levelling the series 2-2. A series-equalling win could provide a morale boost for Anderson going into the final Test in London.
