'India Will Miss...', Ex-Opener Explains Why India Can't Enforce Follow-On in Trinidad Test

In the aftermath of the second day of the ongoing Trinidad Test, where India's batting prowess led by Rohit Sharma resulted in a formidable 438-run total in their first innings, the team's bowling performance left some room for improvement. The West Indies managed a comfortable 86 at stumps, with India securing only one wicket in the 41 overs bowled.

Amidst this, former Indian opener and now cricket commentator, Aakash Chopra, expressed his thoughts on his YouTube channel. In a video, he highlighted the absence of Axar Patel in the Indian bowling department.

Chopra questioned India's selection strategy, comparing it to the West Indies' decision to field four fast bowlers. He voiced his concern, stating,

"We were talking about the West Indies that why they have played four fast bowlers. India's selection has also been doubtful that you have not played Axar Patel here. I feel the Indian team will miss Axar Patel."

"The Indian innings ended at 438. Then you ask the question - is that enough? If you see the pitch, the way the ball is not swinging here, it is enough but it might not be that much that you don't have to bat again," he added.

Chopra believes that India might find it challenging to enforce the follow-on unless they get substantial assistance off the pitch. With the West Indies requiring a further 153 runs to avoid the follow-on, the third day of the Test promises to offer an intriguing battle to the spectators.
