On January 15, 2023, Virat Kohli delivered a masterclass in batting against Sri Lanka at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. 

 His unbeaten 166-run knock in the third and final match of the series showcased his dominance, with 13 fours and 8 sixes.

One moment that particularly stood out in his innings was when Virat Kohli executed a 'helicopter shot' reminiscent of the iconic MS Dhoni.

 In the 44th over, bowled by Kasun Rajitha, Kohli came down the track to a slower ball, lifting it high into the long-on stands. 

The exaggerated follow-through, similar to Dhoni's signature style and 'Helicopter shot', brought a big smile to Kohli's face as he met Shreyas Iyer on the other end. 

This shot drew applause from fans present at the stadium who were reminded of Dhoni's finesse with the helicopter shot. 

Talking about the match, India delivered a dominant performance led by centuries from Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill. 

Their powerful batting display propelled India to a massive total of 390/5 in their 50 overs. In response, Sri Lanka's chase of 391 runs never gained momentum.

Mohammed Siraj's displayed lethal spell in the powerplay. He scalped 4 wickets for just 32 runs and decimated the visitors' lineup. 

Sri Lanka was bundled out for a mere 73 runs, and India secured a historic victory by 317 runs, marking the biggest win in ODI history by a margin of runs.
