In a remarkable turn of events, Yorkshire have roped in ace New Zealand speedster Neil Wagner for the County Championship 2023. Wagner will represent the iconic cricket club in their first ten matches in the red-ball competition.

In his reaction, Wagner revealed he has always enjoyed bowling in England and seemed excited for his new stint for Yorkshire.

Here's what Wagner said

"I’ve always enjoyed playing my cricket in England and to be getting this opportunity again at such a big club like Yorkshire CCC is a great honour,

"I feel like I can offer a lot to the team with my experience, attitude and skill set, so I can’t wait to get going. I want to be a big part of helping move the team back up into Division One."

Meanwhile, former English great and Yorkshire's Director of Cricket Darren Gough hailed Wagner for his abilities and experience, explaining how his inclusion would make the team's bowling attack formidable.

"We are blessed to have some great bowlers to choose from within our ranks and believe that, with the addition of Neil, we have the bowlers to bowl any team out."

Wagner, 36, has been a vital cog in New Zealand's Test setup, scalping 246 wickets in 59 appearances. Regarded as a work horse who can deliver spell after spell, Wagner played a vital role in the Blackcaps triumphant campaign in the first WTC cycle.
