A few days ago, ace Pakistani speedster Haris Rauf was ruled out of the Test series against England owing to a quad injury.

As if that was not enough, now, to Pakistan's misfortune, promising seamer Naseem Shah has also been sidelined from the second Test due to a shoulder injury. Veteran seam bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf has replaced Naseem in the squad.

In another notable event, veteran batter Azhar Ali, who blew hot and cold with the bat in Rawalpindi, has been dropped for Multan Test. Spin bowling all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz replaces Azhar in the playing XI.

On the other hand, Rauf's injury has proved to be a boon for Abrar Ahmed, who has been given his debut Test cap. The young sensation has scalped 76 wickets in 13 first-class appearances.

After losing the first Test, Pakistan have decided to prepare a turner for the second, as they have gone with a spin-heavy bowling unit. Regarding the match, England have opted to bat first after winning the toss, and it will be interesting to see how they counter Pakistan's spin attack on the dry Multan surface.
