Venkatesh Iyer's journey in the Indian cricket circuit has been nothing short of a roller-coaster ride. After playing some gutsy knocks at the top of the batting order for KKR, Iyer grabbed the attention of the Indian management, going on to play nine T20Is and two ODIs for the men in blue. However, his ouster from the scheme of things was even quicker than his rise, as he lost his place as soon as premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya rejoined the side after regaining his form and fitness.

However, the stylish batter looks all set to rejuvenate his career, as he has emerged as KKR's mainstay with the bat in the IPL 2023. After helping his side seal a memorable win over Gujarat Titans through a spectacular 40-ball 83, Iyer reached new heights on Sunday afternoon, slamming his maiden IPL ton against Mumbai Indians.

Although his blazing knock wasn't sufficient for KKR to secure a victory, it must have boosted his confidence, which he should carry forward in the tournament.
