Several star Big Bash League players have come off the contract and the clubs have circled around for their signatures.

One of them is Andrew Tye, who has signed on to return next summer for his 10th season in the competition. A veteran in this competition, Tye has been a crucial member of the Perth Scorchers side, and is their leading wicket-taker.

Apart from Tye, the man of the hour. Matthew Short is also in high demand. He had a stellar BBL 12 season, scoring 458 runs, and picking up 11 wickets for Adelaide Strikers. The two Melbourne Clubs - Stars and Renegades are chasing after Short, whose contract expires at the end of the ongoing season.

Chris Lynn, Aaron Finch, Peter Hatzoglou, and Cameron Bancroft are some of the big names the clubs are circling around.

"I'm definitely in talks to stay in Adelaide for sure, it's a great wicket to bat on," Short said after accepting his Player of the Tournament award last Monday.

"I love breaking up the year, getting out of Melbourne a little bit and heading to Adelaide, I used to holiday there every year with the family growing up so that holds a special place in my heart."

"There's (been) a few messages thrown out here and there, especially to get back to Melbourne, but I'm very happy in Adelaide. They've been good to me and given me the opportunities they have in the last five years, so I'm more than happy to stay in Adelaide."

With so many twists and turns, it'll be interesting to see how the teams will fare at the start of the next season.
