Zaheer in action [PC: Twitter]
One of India's most loved fast bowlers, Zaheer Khan, celebrates his 44th birthday today, and quite fittingly, social media went on a frenzy, flooding his timeline with wishes.
Khan made his India debut in 2000 and played cricket until 2014, representing the nation in 92 Tests, 200 ODIs, and 17 T20Is. The left-arm paceman is known for his impeccable length and ability to swing the ball both ways, which wreaked havoc on batters (ask Graeme Smith).
He scalped 311 Tests (sixth-highest), 282 ODI, and 17 T20Is wickets for the Men in Blue. Khan was 2nd fastest India to 250 one-day wickets, taking just 180 matches.
Khan was instrumental in India's 2011 World Cup winning campaign at home, spearheading the attack with 21 wickets (most in the tournament).
The Maharashtra-born was heavily influential in India's Test triumph over England in 2007 as well.
Former India teammates like Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Rudra Pratap Singh also wished the Mumbai Indians' Director of Cricket Operations.
