Virat Kohli has been unstoppable in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He registered his third score of fifty and more in the ongoing tournament and has been a pivotal player for RCB this season.

In the just concluded game against the Delhi Capitals (DC), Virat Kohli was at his imperial best, smashing a quick-fire 50 off 34 balls to lay a foundation for the middle order batters. The RCB batting fumbled towards the end, but a total of 174 was well defended by the bowlers, led by the debutant Vyshak Vijay Kumar, who picked up 3 for 20.

For his calculative assault, Kohli was awarded the Player of the Match award. However, the former RCB skipper didn't seem pleased at all and talked about the missed opportunity in this game.

"To be honest I was very disappointed that I got off to a full toss. I've been playing really well. After 50 I was targeting 30-35 runs in the next 10 balls. That's usually how I play and that would have helped us getting past 200. There was 1 thing I mentioned to the guys in the change room. 175 is enough on this pitch.

It felt like it slowed down considerably when the spinners came on to bowl and even the balls to hit off the backfoot of Kuldeep specially were holding up. Unlike the other games that we played, maybe because we played in the day so I think we did well enough to get to 175 in the end and we had belief that its enough."

Kohli further talked about how he motivates himself in a high-octane games like the one he played today.

"When I've played my best cricket, those are the balls that I've put away consistently. That helps me to put pressure on the bowler because if I can hit their best ball for four then obviously they will try to do something else and I back myself to hit good balls and the best bowlers in the opposition and that's how I motivate myself. I'm just happy to contribute for the team. Very very happy to get 2 points."

With this win, RCB have 4 points from 4 games. They have won two and lost two matches so far.
