The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have always been a franchise that has employed explosive players in their squad, with Virat Kohli being their most prized possession. Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell joined the club and made an instant impact, scoring 513 runs, more than Kohli and AB de Villiers.

Since then Maxwell has become an integral part of the franchise and has slowly become a mainstay in the XI.

Now, in a chat with RCB YouTube, Maxwell has revealed that a fan compared him to Kohli, which according to the 34-year-old was a serious compliment.

Maxwell is making a comeback into cricket after a long injury layoff and slammed his maiden IPL 2023 fifty against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday, where Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis also struck half-centuries.

Here's what Maxwell said

“I got compared to Virat Kohli once, that was a serious compliment. It was completely unnecessary and definitely not even true but I had a couple of good knocks and got compared to Virat that was quite nice,”

Maxwell also suggested that the batter should get more runs for hitting balls out of the stadium when asked for one rule change.

“Get more for hitting it out of the stadium; if you lose the ball over the roof maybe getting a couple extra runs.”

The hard-hitting batter further voiced his love for Golf and accepted been glued to watching videos of the sport on YouTube lately.
