Former New Zealand pacer Simon Doull has been in all the wrong news lately, after criticising former India captain Virat Kohli during his match for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday.

Doull called out Kohli for batting selfishly en route his fifty, which the star-batter took eight balls to reach after starting swiftly. Doull had earlier lambasted Pakistan captain Babar Azam for playing for personal milestones, during his Pakistan Super League (PSL) match against Quetta Gladiators while leading Peshawar Zalmi.

Now, former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has slammed Doull for his opinions, which according to the ex-Kolkata Knight Riders player were 'utter rubbish'.

Butt, speaking on his YouTube channel backed Kohli, who took his time against LSG to score his fifty while accusing Doull of narrow-mindedness.

Here's what Butt said

"Young players often play like this as getting to milestone might secure their place in the team. Why would Kohli do that? This is RCB we are talking about. He is not fighting for his place in the Indian team. He is a world class player. Get a life. Get out of this narrow-minded thinking. All the big players like Babar, Virat and Williamson are not power-hitters. They put value on their wicket. Maybe he's trying to get attention,"

Earlier, former Pakistan captain and opener Aamer Sohail also had a heated interaction with Doull during their commentary stint during Pakistan's three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in Sharjah.
