Virat Kohli packed a defining punch against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup 2022 on Wednesday.

The former Indian captain scored an unbeaten 64* to guide his team to an impressive total in the first innings and the Men in Blue managed to edge out a thriller against a spirited Bangladesh side.

Kohli has been in sensational form in the World Cup so far and he has played crucial knocks against Pakistan and the Netherlands. He will be hoping to continue his purple patch with another important innings in the upcoming match against Zimbabwe on Sunday.

Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has now reacted to the 33-year-old's form in the World Cup and his performance against Bangladesh.

Watson referred to Kohli as a 'freak' after the Indian star shattered two records during the course of his 64-run innings.

Kohli is now the highest run getter in the shortest format of the game. He also broke Mahela Jayawardena's long-standing record of scoring the most runs in T20 World Cups.

As quoted by NDTV, Watson said:

"Over 1000 runs in T20 World Cups at an average of over 80, I am not able to get my head around this. T20 cricket is a high-risk game, high-risk batting and to think that he can do it at the biggest tournament, averaging so much and winning so many games for his country. He is a freak and those statistics are super freakish. It's incredible that you can bat in such a high-risk format and score consistently. It's ridiculous."
