IPL 2023: Buttler & Jaiswal shared 85 runs for the 1st wicket (
Rajasthan Royals (RR) stormy opening partnership of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal broke the run bank against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their opening clash of this year's Indian Premier League (IPL 2023). RR has notched up 85-1 in their first six overs - which is their highest powerplay score in the IPL.
In the process, the English dashing opener smashed this season's fastest fifty, completing the feat in just 20 deliveries before Fazalhaq Farooqi sent him back to the hut. Jaiswal, on the other, was at 30 off 13 balls at the end of the powerplay.

Buttler and Jaiswal began the attack against stand-in skipper Bhuveshwar Kumar and Farooqi, but the actual assault came against Washington Sundar, where Buttler broke the floodgates, smacking him for two consecutive sixers. After that, T Natarajan was smoked for four boundaries in an over.
In the last over of the powerplay, the English skipper carved three more boundaries against the Afghanistan seamer. But the left-armer had the final laugh as he saw Buttler’s stumps for a toss.
At the time of writing, captain Sanju Samson is assisting the gung-ho Jaiswal (41* off 23) as RR’s score reads 110-1 after 9 overs.
