Sana Mir joins FICA Board as independent director

Former Pakistan Women's captain Sana Mir has joined the Federation of International Cricketers Association (FICA) as an independent director. The decision was approved after a virtual meeting of the board took place on Thursday. 

Sana played for Pakistan between 2005 and 2019, appearing in 120 One-Day Internationals and 106 T20Is. The 36-year-old has 240 wickets, and 2,432 runs across formats.

After her retirement, Sana tried her hands at commentary with equal success. 

The FICA Board comprises of eleven members headed by former Australian Women's captain Lisa Sthalekar. Former Ireland player Cecelia Joyce is also seen in a leadership role. 


Here's what Sana said

"I am excited to join FICA’s leadership and to add a different perspective to the world players body as it continues to grow, contribute to the game, and advocate for players."

Sthalekar welcomed Sana on the FICA Board which has a strong women's representation. 

"Sana’s experience and continuing presence in the game will be a great asset to FICA and players around the world, and we welcome her to the Board."
