AB de Villiers names Dewald Brevis as his player to watch out for in the SA20

To the delight of cricket fans across the globe, South Africa's first-ever global T20 league, the SA20, is set to begin on January 10. 

Ahead of the lucrative league, legendary former Proteas batter AB de Villiers explained how the tournament could prove to be a boon for South African cricket. 

Fondly regarded as Mr 360, De Villiers also named young sensation Dewald Brevis as his player to watch out for in the tournament's inaugural season. 


Here's what De Villiers stated

"I think the SA20 comes at a really good time for the South African cricket. And we have seen the amazing things that these leagues have done to the cricket and in the particular nations to give our youngsters the base and the foundation to get exposure at the highest level against the best players in the world is what’s it all about,

“I think there’s a lot of young players that have come through in the last few years and I think of the very first up in my list Dewald Brevis. I’m looking forward to watch him play and few other youngsters that have performed really well."

Brevis will represent MI Cape Town in the SA20. He recently enjoyed stellar success in the CSA T20 Challenge, finishing as the second-highest run scorer in the tournament with 327 runs at a blistering strike rate of 176.75. 

He etched his name in history books, hammering a belligerent 57-ball 162 against the Knights.
