KL Rahul injured his hip flexor while chasing a ball near the boundary ropes in the heated LSG-RCB game. It was the second over of the game and KL was seen in lot of pain and it looked like a serious injury straightaway. Krunal Pandya then captained LSG for the rest of the game in the absence of KL Rahul and though Rahul came out to bat at number 11 for LSG, he could hardly walk and looked in a lot of pain.

There were speculations that this could be a big injury that can rule him out of the IPL as well and now the news is that BCCI has decided to take over his injury management. The medical team of National Cricket Academy (NCA) will now decide how to go about managing KL Rahul's injury.

For the starters, he is set to miss the game against CSK to be played in Lucknow on 3rd of May. Krunal Pandya will lead LSG in that game. KL Rahul reportedly is still in lot of pain and he might take some time to recover fully. This brings his participation in further games for LSG in serious doubt and it won't be a surprise if NCA medical team decides to not risk him further in IPL with WTC final and World Cup in sights.

However, more clarity on this issue will come after Rahul's scan results are out and let's see how things go for the the stylish right-handed batter from hereon. As far as IPL 2023 is concerned, LSG have won 5 out of their 9 games so far and will be up against CSK at the Ekana Cricket Stadium for their next encounter.
