One of the main factors for Delhi Capitals' lacklustre performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has been their batting, which nearly cost them another match last evening when they faced off against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. Reduced to 23 for 5, youngster Aman Hakim Khan consolidated Delhi's innings along with Axar Patel and Ripal Patel, helping their side post a defendable 130.

Amidst all this, Khan registered his maiden IPL fifty as well, which came in 41 balls. An excellent bowling effort led by Ishant Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed ensured DC handed GT a rare loss while chasing, wining the match by five runs.

As reported by India Today, post the match, Khan sounded pleased with his efforts and hoped to take his confidence into further matches as well.

Further expanding on his season, the former Kolkata Knight Riders player said he was disppointed about throwing his wicket away against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and hoped to make it count when another chance arised.

Here's what Khan said

“It’s satisfying because we won the match; otherwise it wouldn’t have been satisfying. I can now go into the next game with more confidence, having some runs behind me now. I was mostly going into bat when teams needed 100 off 30. So, I wasn’t really thinking much and wasn’t growing in confidence either.

But in the previous game I played in Hyderabad, I was in a similar situation and threw my wicket away. I was really disappointed with myself and was thinking that if I got another opportunity, I would make it count. I wasn’t going to play, but Mitchell Marsh got sick and I came into the side. I wanted to grab the opportunity,”

Capitals, who have won their last three matches, take on an in-form Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday in Delhi.
