In a last-ball thriller, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) prevailed over Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets and won their fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) title last evening in Ahmedabad. The IPL 2023 final, went down to the wire, with CSK chasing 171 via the DLS method, after GT reached a mammoth total of 214, in a match that had rain interruptions aplenty.

Ravindra Jadeja's 6-ball 15 took CSK past the finish line on the last ball of the match and ensured skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won his fifth IPL title for CSK. Dhoni, this season, had looked in top-notch form in the middle, with his tactics and strategies, while with the bat he made an impact when needed.

Former Australia player, and current CSK batting coach Michael Hussey lauded Dhoni for his presence after a record-levelling win. Speaking with Star Sports after the match, Hussey, who has played for CSK as well, explained the impact Dhoni has on youngsters in the team and also touched upon his bond with coach Stephen Fleming.

Here's what Hussey said

"Thankfully, Jaddu did business and took us all over the line. He is an amazing human being. His biggest ability is that he [MS Dhoni] is cool, calm, and collected. He helps the youngsters come up the ranks and calm them down. One of the instances in Qualifier 1 was the run-out by Subhranshu [Senapati]. I think he has a great bond with this man here, Stephen Fleming. They share a good bond and can be seen together quite a few times."

With this win, CSK have equaled Mumbai Indians' (MI) record of most IPL title wins (5).
