Brief Scores: Gujarat Titans: 214/4 (20 overs) [Sai Sudharsan: 96 (47), Wriddhiman Saha: 54 (39); Matheesha Pathirana 2/44 (4), Deepak Chahar 1/38 (4)] lost to Chennai Super Kings: 171/5 (15 overs) [Devon Conway: 47 (25), Shivam Dube: 32 (21); Mohit Sharma 3/36 (3), Noor Ahmed 2/17 (3)] by 5 wickets (DLS method)

The final of IPL 2023 was a historic one! It started on 28th of May and ended on 30th of May. However, the finish we got was the one for the ages as Jadeja smashed 10 runs in the last two deliveries to pull off an unbelievable win for CSK in the most strangest and memorable game in the history of the IPL.

Sai Sudharsan's masterclass power GT to 214

GT were put into bat by MS Dhoni after winning the toss and the openers started off with a bang. Both Gill and Saha took on CSK's bowlers right from the onset and stitched together an opening stand of 67 before Jadeja got rid of Gill on the final delivery of the 7th over. Saha, however, carried on and became the oldest player to score a fifty in the IPL final.

Deepak Chahar though got the better of Saha in his final delivery of his last over and then it was Sai Sudharsan's show that left everyone awestruck. He switched gears magnificently and smashed 73 runs in his last 28 balls after starting cautiously with 23 off 19 balls. He fell four short of his century but powered his team to a humongous total. Tushar Deshpande was pretty expensive for CSK and leaked 56 runs in his four overs while Pathirana picked two wickets at the death.

Jadeja Stuns GT To bring tears of joy in CSK's camp

CSK were set a target of 215 by GT but rain interrupted just after the third ball of CSK's innings and that curtailed the game to 15 overs. CSK were then handed the revised target of 171 runs and Gaikwad and Conway came out all guns blazing as they smashed 72 runs in the opening 6 overs.

However, the tide turned in the 7th over as Noor Ahmed's double strike hampered CSK's progress with both the openers back in the hut. Rahane though played a handy cameo and Dube who struggled initially found his momentum in the 12th over as he smashed two consecutive sixes off the bowling of Rashid to bring the equation down to 38 off last three overs.

Ambati Rayudu then turned back the clock in his final IPL game and smashed 16 runs in three deliveries before Mohit Sharma fired back with two wickets off consecutive deliveries.

It came down to CSK needing 13 runs in the final over and they were still favourites but Mohit Sharma nailed his yorkers perfectly and brought GT on a brink of victory with 10 needed off 2 balls to CSK to win.

Jadeja was on strike and all the pressure was on CSK but somehow, Jadeja pulled off a magical shot to launch the 5th delivery over long on and then clipped the ball to fine leg off the last delivery to bring tears of joy in the eyes of MS Dhoni and millions of CSK fans around the world.
