Australia's up-and-coming all-rounder Cameron Green has been in red-hot form for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 edition, slamming 452 runs throughout the competition. Mumbai's IPL 2023 campaign came to an end last evening when they were handed a drubbing by defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad.

Riding on Shubman Gill's third IPL ton, GT managed to score 233, where in reply, MI were bundled out for 171, courtesy of Mohit Sharma's five-wicket haul. Green, did provide some fireworks with a 20-ball 30, despite copping up with a nasty blow to the elbow.

The Aussie all-rounder will now rejoin the Test squad for their upcoming England tour, where Australia will play WTC Final against India and then The Ashes 2023.

Speaking to SEN Radio, head coach Andrew McDonald dwelled upon Green's impending challenge, which will be about adjusting to the different formats.

Here's what McDonald said

"The challenge for Cam now is as he starts to become a three-format player is how he focuses [on] that, shifts between formats, and he's going to have another challenge in front of him going deep into the IPL finals to get ready for the World Test Championship match. So that will be a challenge for him, but he's a fast learner and every hurdle he's got over so far."

Overall in 20 Tests, Green has scored 941 runs with one century and has picked up 23 wickets, which includes his maiden five-fer against South Africa at MCG in Boxing Day Test.

Australia and India lock horns for the coveted ICC Test Mace in the WTC Final commencing June 7 at The Oval, while the first Ashes Test between hosts England and visitors led by Pat Cummins and Co. begins June 16 at Edgbaston.
