In a distressing statement coming from Australia, pace spearhead Mitchell Starc has revealed a shocking regret that he cannot ever move on from. The left-armer has admitted that he could not sort out things with the great late Shane Warne.

Warne was quite critical of Starc during recent times when he wanted to drop him before last year's Ashes and on some other occasions.

The pacer, however, disclosed that the ace leg-spinner was 'soft' as he wanted to clear things out which were deemed non-personal while having a conversation over beer. The 32-year-old did mentioned that he would never be able to know the real reason behind the tiff they had.

"The disappointing part or the sad part is that we never got to have that conversation, I guess we'll never know (whether it was personal). It’s part of cricket, you’re going to have your critics and everyone is entitled to have an opinion. I’ll just keep going about my cricket,”

Nevertheless, there was some indication by Warne to have a chat with him which could never be fulfilled. To which Starc reacted by saying,

"I don't know – I never got a phone call to take up that offer (of a beer). Hindsight is a wonderful thing."

Mitchell Starc will look to get over his disappointment when he faces the formidable South African side in the first Test commencing on 17th December.
