After experimenting with domestic coaches for the Afghanistan series, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is back on track to hire foreign candidates for the posts. Former coach Mickey Arthur will join Pakistan men's national side as a consultant.

Ex-South Africa speedster Morne Morkel will take up the role of bowling coach, while former Protea batter Andrew Puttick is the front-runner to become a batting consultant. As reported by ESPN Cricinfo, Morkel will finish his stint with Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants before taking up the said post.

Morkel and Puttick worked with New Zealand and South Africa, respectively, in the recently concluded ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023.

Morkel has played 247 international matches, scalping 544 wickets at a phenomenal average of 26.6, while Puttick has played just one ODI for South Africa.

Interestingly, Arthur's role will be primarily remote, as he will also bear the responsibility of being Derbyshire's head coach.

Grant Bradburn will be leading the new coaching panel as head coach, having worked with Pakistan as a fielding coach for three years.

Notably, Pakistan recently suffered a 1-2 T20I series defeat to Afghanistan in Sharjah. The Men in Green will next be up against New Zealand in a five-match T20I series next month.
