After a stupendous opening stand between Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bangalore have gotten a quickfire start by two of their best batters, smacking the Lucknow new ball bowlers all across the park and scoring 56 for no loss in the powerplay.

Kohli has come off aggressively against Lucknow Super Giants, while his skipper is playing the role of the second fiddle.

The former RCB captain first broke his leash against Avesh Khan, scoring a sixer and a boundary off his first over. Then he smoked a couple more boundaries off the same over, and tonked a maximum against the left-arm spin of Krunal Pandya.

However, Kohli got into an exceptional mode in Mark Wood's first over and powerplay's over, smacking the Englishman for a boundary downtown and a maximum clobbered over cow corner.

After the end of the first overs, Kohli's score read 42* off 25 balls, whereas Du Plessis was at 12* off 11, stitching a 50-plus-run partnership.

At the time of writing, Bangalore's total reads 74 for the loss of no wickets, with Kohli stamping his class with another fifty in the tournament and the RCB skipper standing at 20*.
