In what comes as a major blow to the Joburg Super Kings, their prime spinner Aaron Phangiso has been suspended from further bowling in the SA20 League after being reported for a suspect action last week.

The decision was taken by an independent bowling action panel which consisted of Zama Ndamane, Vincent Barnes and Vernon Philander who found Phangiso's action not well within the regulations of law defined by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The report mentioned that the left-armer was bowling with a 'non-compliant' action during the clash against Pretoria Capitals that happened on 17th January in Johannesburg. Going forward, he won't be allowed to bowl in the league starting 23rd January.

After this report, the Super Kings franchise submitted a request to have his action tested under laboratory conditions in a testing centre accredited by the ICC. Further, he would be allowed back to bowl if his action is found legal in the testing conducted.

Phangiso was bowling extremely well in the inaugural season of the SA20 as he picked up 10 wickets in just six games while giving away runs at an economy of 7.05.

The 39-year-old was picked by JSK as the wildcard after the auction as he was brilliant during the previously concluded CSA T20 challenge and CSA ODI championship.
