Joburg Super Kings pick Aaron Phangiso as wildcard player

Left-arm South African spinner Aaron Phangiso has been signed by Joburg Super Kings as their wildcard pick for the inaugural season of SA20 to be held in January 2023. The news was confirmed by a Tweet from the franchise which featured skipper Faf du Plessis.

The 38-year-old has represented Proteas in 16 T20Is and 21 ODIs where he has grabbed a cumulative of 46 wickets in international cricket. His last game was against India in 2018 at Cape Town.


Recently, league's commissioner Graeme Smith allowed signing of a wildcard player before 30th December which will have a base price of R 175,000, outside of the overall pursue. The player could either with domestic or overseas, and will increase the squad strength from 17 to 18.

JSK, one of the six sides in the SA20 league is the sister franchise of Chennai Super Kings owned by CSKCL.
