After losing Finn Allen early in the first over, New Zealand showed their fighting spirit as Dewon Conway lead the charge against the Indian bowlers to keep his side well ahead in the chase with his first ODI century against the hosts.
He was well supported by Henry Nicholls and Daryl Mitchell as Conway alongside the two added 106 runs for the second wicket followed by a 78 runs stand for the third wicket. Shardul Thakur gave India the much needed breakthrough picking the wickets of Mitchell and skipper Tom Latham on consecutive deliveries in the 26th over leaving the visitors down at 184/4.
While Conway tried his best to keep New Zealand in the game, Kuldeep Yadav's spell in the lateral stages of the game turned the tide of the game as India produced the win over the visitors.
