England's Jason Roy has already become Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) batting mainstay this season, having played three matches. Despite helping his side win against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) last evening, Roy found himself fined for breaking the Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct.

Roy, after scoring 56 off 29 balls, got his stumps rattled by Vijaykumar Vyshak and in frustration ended up hitting one bail, for which the explosive batter has been fined 10 percent of his match fee. KKR ended up winning the match by 21 runs, with spinners Suyash Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy spinning RCB batters into a web in their pursuit of 201.

Post the match, Roy admitted to a Level 1 offence, where the Match Referee's decision is final.

Here's what IPL Advisory said

"Kolkata Knight Riders batter Jason Roy has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru,

Mr. Roy admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding,"

Coming in as a late replacement for Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan, Roy has already scored 160 runs for KKR in IPL 2023, which includes two back-to-back fifties against RCB and Chennai Super Kings, respectively.

With three wins and five losses, KKR came up seventh in the points table and will take on Gujarat Titans on Saturday at Eden Gardens.
