Upcoming Indian women's talent has taken the world by storm lately with Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh. Both players have been named in India women's under-19 squad for the inaugural edition of the ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup, with Verma leading the side.

Ghosh's exploits with the bat were on full display in the second T20I against Australia on Sunday, where the 18-year-old smashed an unbeaten 26 off 13, helping India tie the match and then secure a win in the super over.

Former Indian fast bowler and legend Jhulan Goswami has praised the Siliguri-born for her knock. As per TOI, Goswami, speaking at an event organised by the Calcutta Sports Journalists’ Club hoped Ghosh would win India more games moving forward.

“I have known Richa from a very young age. It’s always nice to see her living up to her potential. But she is showing maturity to succeed in that bigger stage. I only hope she continues to win many more matches for India,”

Ghosh, who played in the Women's Big Bash League for Hobart Hurricanes has represented the Indian side in 10 ODIs and 27 T20Is since 2021.

India will rely on Ghosh to provide late fireworks, when they take on Australia in the third T20I today at Brabourne.
