Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant achieved a unique feat during his first innings outing against Bangladesh in the first Test at Chattogram on Day 1. Pant, who came into bat with Team India stuttering on 48 for 3, managed to breach the 4,000 international run mark.

Thus, Pant became only the second Indian wicketkeeper after former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni to surpass this tally. Dhoni, in 535 appearances for India, has scored 17,083 runs with 15 centuries and 108 fifties.

In 128 matches for India, the 24-year-old has 4,021 runs with six hundreds and 15 half-centuries, however when playing as a designated wicketkeeper, Pant has 3,651 runs.

In 28 Tests, 30 ODIs and 66 T20Is, the Delhi batter has scored 2169, 865 and 987 runs, respectively.

During his knock of 46 today, Pant also became only the fourth keeper to hit 50 sixes in Test cricket  after Adam Gilchrist, Dhoni, and Brad Haddin.

In the ongoing Test Championship Cycle, Pant has hit the most sixes for India (33), moving past Rohit Sharma (32).

Speaking about the Chattogram Test, Pant fell to Mehidy Hasan Miraz after making a 45-ball 46, stitching a 64-run stand with Cheteshwar Pujara in the process taking India past 100 runs.

At the time of writing, Shreyas Iyer and Cheteshwar Pujara are batting unbeaten for India, with the visitor's total reading 174/4 after 57 overs.
