India and Royal Challengers Bangalore seamer Mohammed Siraj is relishing the responsibility of leading the RCB attack in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The right-arm seamer has established himself as one of the best new-ball bowlers in T20 as well as one-day international wicket courtesy of his ability to move the ball in both directions.

Siraj has proved to be the heartbeat of RCB's bowling unit throughout IPL 2023 thus far, and on Sunday evening, the Hyderabad seamer once again laid the platform for a successful defence of 189 against the Rajasthan Royals as he knocked over the in-form Jos Buttler for a duck with an unplayable nipbacker.

Siraj was awarded the coveted 'Purple Cap' following yet another brilliant display from him.

 Here's what Siraj said:

"I accept any challenge. My role is going well, wickets with the new ball and the ball is coming out of the hand nicely. One ball swung in the first over when it swung into Jaiswal, then concentrated on my scrambled-seam as I trust that. There was a bit of reverse and it is not easy to hit sixers off the reverse on a hard length. I'm very happy with the responsibility of leading the attack,"

Siraj has been the most successful bowler in the powerplay in the ongoing IPL.

Overall, he has taken 13 wickets in 7 outings at an average of 15.46 and an economy rate of 7.18, and RCB think-tank and fans will hope that he continues his form in the remainder of the season.
