In a remarkable turn of events, ace English speedster Jofra Archer returned to the cricket field after a long injury layoff.

Archer, who was out of action for eighteen months due to a career-threatening stress fracture, represented the England Lions in a practice game against England in Abu Dhabi.

Notably, the right-arm pacer bowled nine overs and troubled the England batters with his pace and accuracy. He even terrified England opener Zak Crawley, cracking him straight on his helmet.

Crawley, who bore the flaming thunderbolts of Archer, revealed that the pacer consistently clocked the 90-mph mark during the game. The stylish right-handed batter also informed of Archer's improved fitness and expected him to be match-fit very soon.

Here's what Crawley said

"There's a speed gun up there and they said he was bowling 90 (mph, 145kph) on the gun, which they say you can add 3mph to that so he’s bowling good pace. He‘ll be a bit match rusty and that’s to be expected as anyone would be, but the fitness is there for sure. He‘s bowling quick and he looks in good nick physically."

Meanwhile, Archer has been signed as a wild card draft pick by the MI Cape Town for the upcoming SA20. His fitness will truly be tested in the league, and if he convinces England selectors, he might soon make his much-awaited international comeback.
